Loong Air has inaugurated its first cross-strait service by launching a new direct flight route between Chengdu Tianfu International Airport in China and Taichung International Airport in Taiwan. This service, which will enhance travel connectivity between southwestern China and central Taiwan, operates twice a week with flights scheduled every Tuesday and Saturday.
With the introduction of this route, Taichung International Airport now boasts 31 operational or announced routes. These include 20 regular services and 11 charter routes, reflecting the airport’s growing role as a key hub in the region.
The Chengdu route joins Nanjing and Qingdao as part of the three scheduled cross-strait destinations currently served from Taichung Airport. This expansion underscores the increasing demand and potential for travel between these regions.
As more travelers seek convenient connections across the Taiwan Strait, Loong Air’s new service is poised to play a significant role in meeting this demand. The airline’s strategic move not only broadens its service offerings but also strengthens economic and cultural ties between China and Taiwan.
