China and India are gearing up for the 25th round of Special Representatives’ Talks on the Boundary Question, as both nations strive to manage their border-related issues. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun announced the preparations at a routine press briefing, underscoring the ongoing communication between the two countries to implement agreements from their previous discussions.
The dialogue aims to build upon the consensus reached during the 24th round of talks, with both sides committed to maintaining peace and stability along the contentious frontier. The talks are part of a broader effort to ensure effective management of border disputes that have been a longstanding issue between the two Asian giants.
In the backdrop of these talks, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is visiting New Delhi for the 16th Meeting of BRICS National Security Advisors and High Representatives on National Security. During his stay, Wang held a meeting with Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval on Monday, signaling continued diplomatic engagement on various fronts.
While the overall situation along the China-India border remains stable, according to Guo, communication channels between the two countries are functioning well. This ongoing dialogue is crucial for addressing and resolving the complex border issues that have historically strained bilateral relations.
The upcoming talks are anticipated to further the efforts of both countries in managing their border issues effectively, emphasizing their mutual interest in maintaining regional stability. The continuation of these discussions highlights the importance both nations place on diplomatic engagement and peaceful resolution of conflicts.
