China has expressed its commitment to enhance security collaboration with African nations, aiming to bolster regional peace and foster stable economic growth. This pledge was articulated by Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun during the 4th China-Africa Peace and Security Forum held in Beijing on Thursday.
Speaking to representatives from the African Union and 41 African countries, Dong emphasized the enduring defense ties between China and Africa, which are anchored in mutual support and shared security interests. He highlighted that such cooperation not only aids regional peace but also contributes to global stability.
Dong outlined China’s readiness to advance strategic coordination, expand defense exchanges, and strengthen maritime security cooperation with African countries. He also called for increased collaboration in emerging security and defense fields, aiming for tangible outcomes from existing partnerships.
The forum served as a platform for military representatives and diplomats to discuss security cooperation and address shared challenges. Dong underscored the importance of continuing efforts based on equality and mutual benefit, reinforcing China’s commitment to working alongside African countries to achieve common security goals.
