Wang Xingxing, the founder and CEO of Unitree Robotics, one of China’s premier humanoid robot manufacturers, shared his perspective on when embodied intelligence might achieve such a breakthrough. Speaking at the 2026 World Robot Conference in Beijing on August 20, Wang projected that embodied intelligence could reach a pivotal moment akin to the “ChatGPT moment” within two to three years. However, he cautioned that under slower development scenarios, this could extend to five to 10 years.
Unitree Robotics, a leader in the field, recently made headlines with its strong debut on the Shanghai Stock Exchange’s STAR Market. On the day following Wang’s comments, the company’s shares closed with a remarkable 460 percent increase.
